Sweet Dreams

There seems to be one thing I have in common with anyone I cross paths with these days: we are tired!

Whether its the frustrations of today or the anxious thoughts of tomorrow keeping us awake we all want the same thing: a good night's sleep. 

For me, and this may be TMI, my problem isn't so much falling asleep but staying asleep. Ever since high school I have been making midnight trips to the potty. Seriously, I cannot sleep the entire night through. Sometime between two and four I will be up to go to the bathroom. It is super annoying! What's even more annoying is when I wake up the dogs wake up. And when the dogs wake up they want to go outside. So, I get up, let them out, go to the bathroom, and then wait for them to be ready to come back inside. Its a giant pain in the butt. 

Enter: Lavender. My dear, sweet, love, Lavender. One drop of Lavender essential oil on the bottom of each foot at bedtime, and I sleep like a baby. (Not like an actually baby, because they never sleep through the night, but you know what I mean.) I also like to put it behind my ears, cuz it smells really, really good.


Since I started applying Lavender before bed about a month ago, I have not once woken up middle of the night needing a potty break. Unfortunately,  I can not say the same for the dogs, but I can handle maybe once a week for them wayyy better than every single night for myself. It's been wonderful. A full night's sleep without any interruptions makes for one happy girl!

  1. I'm going to try it on my feet tonight. Just using it in the diffuser helps me.
